Josephine On A New Perfume Bottle

Last week in Paris I saw these perfumes being launched at a department store in Paris.
I was confused about Josephine's image since the perfume description is as follows:

Violette Impériale

Eau de toilette spray 100 ml or 50 ml
Creation of the perfumer Constant MICHAUX.
Contains fair trade certified essential oils.
Natural alcohol without phtalates

VIOLETTE IMPERIALE presents a generous and rich violet that recalls with  elegance the splendor of the Second Empire.
Top : orange, blackcurrant, peach
Heart : violet, iris, raspberry, ylang ylang
Dry down : vanilla, musk, amber, vetiver, sandalwood
In the language of flowers, the violet represents shyness, modesty, decency and is a symbol for secret love. It was the favorite flower of the Empress Eugénie de Montijo (1826 – 1920)  wife of Napoleon III.
On the case is represented an imperial symbol: the bee, which evokes immortality and resurrection and establishes a link between the new dynasty and the origins of France.

I guess a picture of Empress Eugenie wouldn't sell as many bottles.
If they wanted to name a perfume after Josephine I think they should have assigned the rose scent to her.

Gifts Ideas For The Insensitive

This might look like a photo of Napoleon's tomb.
You know, his final resting place in Paris.
Instead it is a decorative box.

Anyone Going to Columbia?

I would love to see this exhibit in Columbia, if only to get a closer look at this painting.  Beautiful!
There is a great video showcasing the items in the show if you go to this link.
